Orchard Drive is the latest single from Hamilton, Ontario artist, miles from nowhere. Miles has once again channeled the groove-based, soulful sound that has been the backbone of his previous releases. Joining him is the unmistakable drumming of Jason Bhattacharya (Granny Smith, Dan Edmonds), who also co-wrote & co-produced the song, as well as the subtle warmth of Graeme Moffatt (Buster Crabtree, Julie Arsenault) on bass.
On Orchard Drive, Miles sings of the oldest house in his hometown, his Aunt & Uncle’s place, which acted as a formative second home growing up. Miles explains, "There are special places in our lives that bring us back to a simpler time. It’s like walking into a feeling. No matter how much time passes you can go there and feel right.” The house on Orchard Drive is that place. Part nostalgia, part gratitude, the first miles from nowhere. release of 2021 is an ode to those who made you who you are.
lyrics
Pull on up to Orchard Drive
They'll be here when you arrive
By the Orchard 1 in every 100 days
Don't be afraid to stay awhile
Happy days, I was a child
some things change, you can't describe
Oh I feel the same way
As I did on the first day
I know it feel it lately
I don't want it to change me
Pull on up to Orchard Drive
They'll be here when you arrive
By the Orchard 1 in every 100 days
Many Days that make you smile
We're all here, it's been a while
By the Orchard where I spent my younger days
Well I can't say how I feel on worst days
How many years of my worth, babe
Do I owe to my home base?
Well it carries the same weight
As that child on his first day
My heads in a strange space
But I'm in the right place
Pull On Up
Pull On Up
Pull On Up
